Vacation Home Sales Reach 2nd Highest Mark Since 2006   Leave a comment

Here is a national look at vacation home sales.  Beach locations are the most popular second home destinations followed by mountains and lakes. Next week I will be posting the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe first quarter market statistics.  2016 is starting off very strong.

Vacation Home Sales Reach 2nd Highest Mark Since 2006 [INFOGRAPHIC] | Simplifying The Market

Some Highlights:

  • 58% of vacation homes purchased were single family homes.
  • 51% of vacation homes that were purchased were found online.
  • The median price of a vacation home is up 28% from 2014.

Snowfest! Lake Tahoe and Truckee Winter Carnival!   Leave a comment

For 10 days Tahoe and Truckee celebrate snow in this long time, annual event.

Along with the Great Race, there is a Rib Cook Off, Dress Up Your Dog contest and even a Polar Bear Swim. Brrrrrr! …among many other events.
It all starts tonight at Garwoods at 5pm tonight, featuring the Snowfest Queen Coronation.

According to forcasts, Mother Nature intends to get in the act, and favor us with said white stuff starting on Saturday, so grab your gear and make plans to be in attendance for our annual homage to our Sierra lifestyle and celebrate snow!
