Truckee’s new bookstore!
By Tim Hauserman
This week, the Word After Word Bookstore opened in downtown Truckee. It came just a few weeks after the closing of The Bookshelf, Truckee’s long time independent bookstore, which was located next to Wild Cherries on Donner Pass Road.
Word after Word is tucked right in the middle of Commercial Row next to Uncorked and just a few steps from Bespoke. It is owned by two Truckee women, Andie Keith and Nicolle Sloan, who made the decision to open the business because they felt strongly that Truckee needed a vibrant bookstore. They chose the downtown location to attract not only local book lovers, but also tourists who congregate in the center of town.
