One of the great things about summer in the Tahoe-Truckee region is the weather is just right for getting out and about and playing with your friends. In response, every town around the area has come up with fun events to bring us together. If it’s Friday you can hit the beach in Kings Beach for a concert on the beach, and then on Sunday, you can picnic on the grass next to the lake at the extremely popular concerts on The Commons in Tahoe City. Wednesday? How about a movie on the beach in Tahoe City. But Thursdays belong to Truckee, when downtown comes to a halt for Truckee Thursdays.
Every Thursday from June 12th through August 21st, the center of downtown Truckee is shut down to traffic from 5 to 9 pm and becomes the place to party. You will find a tasty and eclectic mix of food truck treats, a farmers market, and tons of booths showing off artwork and the causes of local non-profits. And you will enjoy music from a variety of local and regional favorites playing in the beer garden next to the railroad tracks. Most importantly, Truckee Thursday is the place to meet up with your friends and potential new friends on Thursday nights. If you don’t see anyone you know there, well you just haven’t spent enough time in Truckee or Tahoe. Here is your chance to get acquainted.
Truckee Thursday is sponsored by the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association.
